I get a call from this number on a weekly basis. It shows as Utah State Government on my caller ID and is a non-returnable number. Seriously if you work for the State of Utah and you are calling your taxpayers phones that they pay you taxes on have the common curteousy to LEAVE A MESSAGE as to the reason for your call. I don't feel I need to pay taxes for hang up calls from the state, this is ridiculous, if it is legitimate leave a message.
It is a general number used by all Utah State government agencies on caller id. There is no way to distinguish who is actually calling. I keep getting calls but they are someone actually attempting to fax something. The moronic thing is that they are not calling my fax number they are calling a regular number and I have no way to know who is actually attempting to fax which is really really annoying because it keeps trying every 10 minutes. Would be a lot easier if I got child support, owed taxes, owed any debt, or knew someone in prison. .. grrr.
If this is a general number to protect the persons identity, then why can I not return a call to the same number? I have been waiting for a call for the past 3 weeks from ORS, and wouldn't you know that they would try back at least once.
And no it is not to notify you of a deposit. I am still waiting on child support not paid.
This number called today right before state closing hours, of course, and I could not return the call, due to message telling me it is a "non-returnable" phone number. Who knows.
I have been expecting a call from ORS for 3 weeks now, and no matter how often I email, I don't get a reply. Maybe this was my unlucky 2 second window of opportunity, lost down the drain. So I can plan on another 3-4 weeks, I am assuming.
Odd that you can't block this number, but here's a possible alternative;
Make a group in your phone that you save unwanted numbers to, then set that ring tone to "silent".
