A guy called me from this number on one of my houses I have listed. He asked about the house and was a bit rude and then said he would call back if he needed any more information. I captured a number that called from my 24 hr free recorded message line but cannot trace that number back to anything. The number I traced was 801-485-6555.
This is not a real number. Any number with a 555 as the prefix CANNOT be owned by an person or business, regardless of the area code. Just pay attention the next time you watch a movie and a phone number is shown or read aloud. The movies will always use 555 as the prefix so that no one will see the number in the movie and try calling a real person or business. One way this happens is if a person blocks their number from caller ID when the call, then, if your phone is set up to NOT allow block numbers, the system gives the caller an opportunity to enter their phone number. Like they are going to enter a real number, let alone their number! So, this person or persons that are calling know this, and spoof the number. If you ever see a prefix of 555 (remember I mean prefix, not area code), you know something is immediately fishy.
