Got a call from this number. (Which I wasn't expecting.) I looked the number up here. (Thank you all for posting your experiences! I love 800Notes.) I will be adding this number to my 'Telemarketer' contact. (Silent ringtone, no vibration. I won't be answering another call from them.) No message was left, which to me indicates that they are a Scamarketer.
Called to give me an auto insurance quote. They did not give me a single quote, just wanted to confirm my info (they were unclear about where they got any of it). I was surprised by how much info they already knew about me. Said I wasn't interested yet they said that they would pass info onto other marketers to call/email regardless even though I instructed them not to. I have a suspicion they might be attempting identity fraud. They knew my info, and tried to get me to tell them info about my spouse, which I suspect having both sets of info could then be used to get info from my current auto insurance company, and do who knows what.
Just called them back. They guy knew my name and started to ask if I was still at my address(which he listed). I said I already have insurance and asked how he got my info and he hung up. Not likely to be identity fraud, they probably bought my info from some other company. Pissed me off though, I harrass them right back.
Just got a call saying they just got my car information and want to give me a quote for my car insurance. I asked who gave them my information? I am happy with the insurance I have and to remove me from their call list now! I don't ever want to hear from them again! It has got to be a scam.
