I just received a call from them after signing up for a 14 day trial earlier in the week. I don't like the fact that they tried to call me. Oh well, I hope they like my voice mail message...."We're sorry, you have reached a number that has been disconnected or is no longer in service. If you feel you have reached this recording in error, please check the number and try your call again." (short pause) "If you'd like to make a call, please hang up and try again. If you need help,hang up and then dial your operator."
I got a call this morning at 10:30 am est from the same number. I also signed up for an ancestry.com trial last week, and will be canceling my trial subscription. I was pretty disappointed in the site anyway, and provided them with far more information than they helped me with.
Same thing.... signed up with Ancestry.com, hit with a phone call and no message. I won't "un-signup" like some folks here, but I also won't answer the phone when they call, so it's a waste of everyone's time.
Firstly, I absolutely hate telemarketing calls and have been known to voice my opinions about this on the phone. However, this call was actually a support person calling to ask if I needed help with anything which was a pleasant surprise. His name was Bruce and he wasn't selling anything and spend about 10 minutes on the phone answering a bunch of questions I had about the site. I wish more companies would do this. I know I'll be keeping my subscriptions for at least another month.
