I have received call from this number and a man named Victor Maxwell. He states that he is an investigator for the state of TN on the voicemail. He states that I have 2 felony warrants out for my arrest and he will be serving me at my place of work. When I called him back he stated that the warrants were from Michigan City, IN for defrauding a financial institution. He states that they have me on video survellience. I have NEVER been to Michigan City, IN. When I ask why he said that it was a matter in Tennessee on the voicemail, he changed the subject. He stated that I owe a company $700.00 but would not give me the name of the company. By the time I hung up he said I owed $900.00. They even called my daughter and a former friend of mine at their work and told them to get ahold of me regarding me going to jail on the felony charges. What can I do about this? Is there something legal I can do to stop these calls coming in and them calling people I know telling lies about me.
I'ma ex Debt Collector and when I heard this message I almost passed out!! He's working "old paper" and using limited resources to try to extract current information that he will use to take your money and probably NOT PAY YOUR BILL.... DO NOT TRUST! Violating FDCPA repeatedly is not a good way to get debtors to pay!! Being DECEITFUL is NOT GOOD BUSINESS!! PLEASE AVOID VICTOR MAXWELL!! Not ALL debt collection agencies are actual real businesses... It's often a guy with a license and a couple dollars that buys your debt and is allowed to see your private information, including your Social Security Number... Can't trust people like this but there is nothing to do to change this... Also... Mr Maxwell will probably remain anonymous unless enough people speak up together... Guess we'll see. I smell a Private Investigator coming soon....
My sister just called me with a phone message from this phone number. She said that it was a black man and that she could barely understand what he was saying. He gave her a reference number and said that he was from Utah. In the message, he said that there are felony charges against me and that I need to call him back. I have dealt with this before from payday loans that I have gotten online, which by the way, I NEVER plan to do again. Please do not call these people back if they call you. It just entices them to play with your emotions more when you don't even owe them the money that they are stating you owe to them. Do not let yourself get bullied by them. I haven't received any phone calls in a while and all of a sudden I get one. I don't intend to call them back!
