Got a call from 801-742-8741 labeled as Alta, UT at 11am. I answered and the lady said she was calling from AllState Indemnity Group offering some sort of elite Roadside Assistance package for only $1.99 for the first two months (then $15/mo)... the words and tone she used were very sales-script-sounding, trying to sell me on the benefits. I have AllState insurance, and when I said I was surprised my agent wasn't contacting me about it, she replied she was calling from the Road Club. She had my address and name already, and asked for my membership number. I was uncomfortable and confused, so I hung up and called my agent. He couldn't verify off-hand, but he said the RoadClub did have separate benefits from a regular policy, and he would follow-up on the phone number to verify legitimacy for me.

Just got the same type of call. 801-742-8741, lady said her name was Heather from Allstate. I explained I was quite busy and asked to be called back, but now that I read this, I already have roadside assistance through Allstate and don't need more. Everyone needs a job, but I am not happy if Allstate gave a third party vendor my phone information.
