Received a call from 801-805-0274 on 11/11/2013 at 12:23PM EST. Caller ID displayed "Name Unknown". Google Voice already has this number on their spam list so my phone did not ring and the caller was automatically sent to voicemail. No voicemail message was left.
Based on the comments posted here this appears to be another number being used by the "Auto Warranty" scam.
I have added this number to my Google Voice block list.
They just call then say press 1 for next available operator or 2 to be taken off call list ,I press 2 and never get taken off. when I press 1 all I hear is people talking in the background.They call all the time what is this?
Answered call and it hung up. When I called the number back, I got an automated message (in English and Spanish): "The number you dialed is not a working number. Please check the number and dial again Message 3, PA03UL"
Called from "vehicle warranty center" and asked how I was. I said "okay" and she paused like she was recording my response. Then said that according to her records, my vehicle warranty has expired. Since I'm on the no call list, I wanted to know how they got referred to my number to see if they were in violation. So I said "for which vehicle". She paused and acted like she was looking up information and said "Ummm.... according to what it ways here it is Chevrolet. Is that right?" So I called her out (I dont own a Chevrolet and she was clearly just picking a make out of the air to seem legitimate), told her this was a fishing telemarketing call, and to remove my number. And now I am reporting them. I wonder what information she thought she was going to get from me, and what she would try to do to my financial life with it.
Same as above. Called from the "vehicle warranty center" didn't know what vehicle I owned. Sounded like they were recording voice. I happily hung up on her.
