Rocky Mountain Power Scammers. They called claiming we have not paid our power bill and demanded payment. We are in a business complex that provides electricity to its tenants. I played along and asked how much we had to pay and they just hung up. This 801-822 suffix is usually assigned to the Magic Jack company where you can get an internet phone line for like $20 a year.
just got a call from them today saying they were Pge and were shutting me off today if I didn't go to a rite aid or cvs and do a money pack,, its a scam,, I confronted the guy and he mfd me and hung up ,, its a number out of provo Utah,, report it if it occurs,, I think the guy was or may be in Indonesia or Phillipinnes.. he had malay or Phillipino accent.. also power companies don't do onsite shut offs. here in calif they do it remotely... be carefull.. ask them to confirm your accnt number before giving them any info..............
there calling san diego now same thing there going to shut off my power in 45 min if i don't go get a money pack card they had no info on my account we ended up getting into it on the phone i reported it to sdge they said they have had 3 calls like mine today what a bunch of jerks and yes they had a strong accent go figure!!!!
Just received a call from this same number, with the man identifying himself as rep for SoCal edison, and that we were going to have our power turned off. This call was made to my business, and I had my staff put him on hold, so I could retrieve my current bills. When I picked up the phone, he had hung up. I googled the number, which brought me here...I called the number back, and again he tried to identify himself as SoCal Edison, and when I told him I was reviewing the notes online regarding the telephone number, he hung up. I reported this to our local authorities, TV news station and our downtown business association. scummy scammers!
