We received a call at 11:16 yesterday from 801-822-0489. The caller identified himself as a Los Angeles DWP employee. He then asked for a credit card or our services would be disconnected. My son recently talked to another business owner who received the same call in our area code 818.
Got a call from so called DWP, asked to pay over $400 or our services will get shut down in under an hour. When asked a direct question about the account, he panicked and hung up. Those idiots wouldn't even spoof an automated system if you call them back, the pick up, call you names and hang up. Don't be stupid, DON'T PAY THESE MORONS!
Received call claiming to be Georgia Dept of Power stating that our meter was being disconnected in 45 minutes and that they'd tried to reach our property manager several months for a 2 month past due bill. It did not matter that our electric power was already paid to our service provider - said they are parent over our provider and that our landlord had not paid the shopping center bill. Was instructed to go to a Kroger or Rite Aid (gave me the address of the closest one) to purchase a " express payment card" and pay in cash - credit card not acceptable. They are getting smarter with their scams, BEWARE.
We received a call from this number claiming to be PG&E and telling us our power would be shut off if we didn't provide proof of payment. They said they were at a call center in Arcata Ca.
