received a call at 12:36PM from this number but didn't answer since the area code was not familiar and no message was left

Response: Picked up because I thought it might be one of my boss's clients who lives there (my boss is an intellectual property attorney). It was not. It is about predatory lending and the government providing stimulus money if your mortgage is not affordable. This is very, very sad because I do not have a mortgage right now. I will also report them to the Do Not Call registry.

Is it possible that these calls are coming from prepaid cell phones -- so using DONOTCALL won't help.

If this is so, would need legislation requiring registration for the buyer of a prepaid phone including photo ID>

Called at 1:17pm, 17Jan2012, 801-846-6969, probably a spoofed number. Mortgage Scam! Don't give them any information!
