Update to my previous. This number continued calling me and sometimes leaving messages. One message left a website (cardmemberassistance.com). I did some whois lookups on it, and it looks like it's owned by Discover Card. When I called the number on the site, I told them about the repeated calls. They confirmed that there were 2 names on my number, and the calls were probably for that other person. I gave my last name, and they were able to remove the other person (probably added by accident). They also said that these calls were for fraud protection (so I would still get a call if there they suspected fraudulent charges on my card). So the call seems like a legit Discover call, but if I were you I'd still be careful about giving out too much information.
I am currently on business in the UK. I have rec'd at least 1 call/day for the last week from this number. I won't answer it because I do not want the international charges to my cell. Anyone know who this is?
I've been receiving calls from this number multiple times per day for a week. Finally answered it today and a recorded voice said "Please hold for an important message" and then it disconnected. I hate companies that annoy like that! If it is so important that you call, have a real person ready to talk. If it isn't important enough for you to spend enough money to hire enough staff, then it isn't important enough to annoy people!
