It's a call from Amex collections: I had gotten a call this morning and made a payment online. HOWEVER, it states that it takes 24-48 hours for your payment to process, and they WILL keep calling until they reach a live person.
The lady on the other end of the line was pleasant and courteous, she said it was just a courtesy call to advise me that they HAD received my payment, and to please disregard any correspondence I may receive in the mail stating otherwise. She thanked me for my time and we ended the call.
There are multiple phone numbers that the calls come from, so it is very hard to keep track of them.
Left no message. When I called it back said thank you for calling American Express, please enter your 15 digit account number. Sounds like a phishing scam, but I guess it could also be legit. I am not an Amex customer so this is why I suspect phishing.
They asked for a person whom I don't know so when I told them I don't know them they say sorry, and they will take off the list, but they keep calling back
It was Amex, and yes I do owe them, but guess what I ain't paying them [***] and told the collector that same thing and to stop calling me. With the freaking hig [***] intrest rate they charge and for the length of time 've had the card my balance never goes down. Told the [***] im filing bankruptcy and don't F'ing call me any more or I will sue for harassment.
