Received my call at 12:00 today. Was told I won a $100 gift card and my information was taken from a Target or Walmart receipt that I filled out and turned in about 4 months ago. As this was obviously untrue, I asked for her company name. She said it was YMS in Florida. She also gave me a call back number to verify that it was real. She gave me 855-213-8752. I called it and someone answered, "Customer Service, hold please." I held, for about 6 minutes. She came back on the line and asked me the nature of my problem. I asked her about the company and she said that the company is "Young Magazine Subscriptions." They will send me a gift cert. in exchange for my credit card to bill me for magazine subscriptions! I said no Thank You, hung up and registered with the National Do Not Call List. Supposedly now, if they call me after 30 days of re-signing up on the list, they will get fined as long as I report them, and I will. Let's hope it works. HOW IN THE F&^K, DO THESE PEOPLE GET OUR PHONE NUMBERS AND INFORMATION???
No music ... just instantly transferred to voice mail system - then, when asked if I wanted to hear the message I'd recorded, did NO playback and steered me into another menu... Does NOT sound like a valid nor legitimate telephone number else they would answer when called...
2nd time today with this ish. No more picking up random #s for me. I feel violated somehow. Whoever thought of this [***] should be locked up with lounge music playing in their cell for eternity. And a ringing phone just outside of the cell that never stops and the guards refuse to answer it. They are so lucky I'm not in legislation. I would vote this illegal if I had a ballot.
