This call was a recorded message asking for delivery directions for a Med-Alert system which the chatty, down-home male speaker claimed was already paid for including delivery. The recording went on to give instructions to press this number or that for specific reasons - this is something that obviously cannot be done with a recording, particularly when it is recorded on one's answering machine.
According to the State Attorney General's office, this is a scam currently going around and using an in-state number via some electronic trickery but no doubt located in Nigeria or India or some such off-shore location outside US jurisdiction. Apparently it is happening with security systems as well, and if you "bite" - are gullible enough to be scammed - they will demand either your credit card number or a "small wire transfer" payment. Do not answer, do not respond, report here and to the National Do Not Call complaint system.
Same thing as above. It sounded like a live person named "John". It may have been a recording, however, as no matter how I yelled at him he wouldn't shut up. Reporting to Do Not Call site, for what it's worth.
Two calls in 2 days and one a month ago. The month ago they argued with me that I needed medical equipment. The other 2 calls I just hung up when I answered and they started chatting away. Do not call lists don't work and neither does the AG's office. Every person for themselves!
I have received a few calls from this number over the past month. I never answered until today and got the same message described in the first post. It was obviously a scam. I tried to ask for contact information but then realized it was a recorded message and hung up.
