I got this call and since it showed being from Newport Vermont, I did  not answer it as I have never been there and don't know anyone there. They had an option to leave a message but chose to hang up. I would like to know who is doing calls like this as I receive them daily from all different numbers from all over the U.S.  I have not registered for anything and don't owe anyone anything so I should not be getting these unknown calls and don't think I should have to pay to find out. I am registered on the do not call list and that seems to be a waste of my time as I still get calls like this all the time. I am a senior and don't appreciate being disturbed constantly with this garbage. I believe there should be a place where we can look up numbers without paying for it to get some resolution to this problem, most especially for seniors who are innocent victims to these scam calls that are unknown to them. I block mine but it is disheartening to know some fall into their trap because greedy web sites expect you to pay to see who owns a number and won't protect them  I have purchased 3 different sites that guaranteed to show you who owns the phone number with the exact address to show who owns the numbers called and they are as much a scam as the scammers are. They will show you the area where the call came from but no name or exact location. If the numbers were published on the internet like they were in a phone book back in the day, there would be no more scammers as they would know they could be caught. The internet could work as a phone book that everyone could have access to but they won't as then it would put all these sites that want you to pay out of business. They would rather put innocent people in harms way out of greed than to protect them.  SO SAD!
