Called us to check price on top model Samsung TV. Wanted to buy but will send Fedex to pick up. Typical of those trying to use fraudulent credit cards.

Generally the way this kind of scam works is they offer to buy one or more items (often at list price or above). When it comes time to pay (and they often delay this bit as long as they can to get you excited in anticipation of the money you're going to make) they want to pay with an international money order drawn on an overseas bank you've never heard of. (Sometimes the amount of the money order will be well in excess of the agreed-upon price and you'll be asked to send a check for the difference with the goods.) By the time your bank returns the money order as a forgery you've already shipped out the product (they usually need things shipped out immediately by overnight express of some kind) and you're SOL.

At one place I worked I actually had this scam attempted on me over the phone from Nigeria using a translator: The scammer called the the translator who then called me and translated our conversation in real time (I assume this is a paid service of some kind). I was already familiar with the scam so he just wasted his time and, I hope, money.
