This guy called claiming that I had been texting with his underage son. His son had supposedly tried to commit suicide and he wanted $1,237 to cover the er room expenses.

I also had a call today from the 'father' saying I texted his under age son.... Which I hadn't. Bull crap. Scam. He wanted me to oay 1100 in installments to have his phone disconnected
This is sadly an all-too-common scam. One name for it is the "underage girl scam" but now it looks like these criminals are adding underage boys to the M.O. There are several number threads here with similar complaints, some with this same area code. I recommend you go to your police department to file a report of attempted extortion, and also cease all contact with these criminals.
