Met girl on OkCupid with this number. Only one profile picture, no bio. She seemed cute and I thought maybe her profile was new, so I messaged her bored at work one day. Quickly exchanged numbers and things immediately got sexual. She instantly sent me like 4 or 5 nude or semi nude pictures, and asked for some in return. I had the feeing at this point it might be a scam, but stupidly I went along with it anyway and sent her a picture. She then didn't say anything back, until about 11am the next morning. And proceeds to tell me she is 16 and still in high school. I of course freak out and say don't contact me again, and I deleted the convo and pictures immediately. She kept texting me and I then started to assume a scam. I told her that this is either some kind of scam or a sting and that I want nothing to do with it. Then after cursing me out, i don't say anything back. About 10 minutes later I got a text from the "father" who goes on to say I was sexting his underage daughter. He then starts to rant sending me 3 to 5 texts saying that I'm going to jail, and used the word "son" frequently. Last text sent was "son do I need to call you?" I then blocked the number pretty instantly and deleted my OkCupid account. Both the father and the "daughter" both used the same bad syntax with no spaces after a period, it would just run on to the next sentence. Also very bad grammar and sentence formatting with words switched around and punctuation like question marks in the middle of a sentence. Which is why I believe it to be a scam. Doing research on the phone number turns up literally nothing. It's been 3 days now since this happened and I haven't heard anything. I've seen similar reports of other (803) numbers doing this here on 800 notes. I'm still pretty worried even though technically I did not do anything wrong. I never recieved the fake police officer call others have mentioned, and I blocked the number before he asked for any money, but I'm pretty sure he was about to. Been pretty worried since I haven't heard back, anyone else had issues with this number? I also saw that the girl had viewed my profile on okcupid after I told her to stop contacting me, and when I viewed her back to report her profile, it had a different city a state away as the location. Number isn't linked to Facebook, or a snapchat account, no voicemail set up. Even though this has all the red flags of a typical online scam, I am still very worried.
This same situation just happened to me. However, I knew better and was able to stop it before it started. I have reported the account to the people of OkCupid and explained the situation I was personally involved in. You have no need to worry. This is just a scam. But use you're head and have better common sense next time, dummy.
