Received call from robot claiming to be an investigator from the FBI regarding a case against me. Claimed to be officer Catherine Richardson. Stated that my physical address was under investigation and an arrest warrant had been issued. Requested that I call this number back to resolve the issue.
The IRS will not call you. They send letters via US Mail. The IRS won't ask you to pay in i-Tunes cards. The IRS will not wish you "good luck as the situation unfolds". Trust yourself and your instincts - do not let a bully intimidate you with threats that are nothing but hot air. This is a SCAM. Do not answer calls you don't know and never call them back.

NOTE: Private Debt Collection. The Internal Revenue Service plans to begin private collection of certain overdue federal tax debts in April 2017 and has selected four contractors to implement the new program. These private collection agencies will work on accounts where taxpayers owe money, but the IRS is no longer actively working them. Several factors contribute to the IRS assigning these accounts to private collection agencies, including older, overdue tax accounts or lack of resources preventing the IRS from working the cases.
The IRS will give taxpayers and their representative written notice that the accounts are being transferred to the private collection agencies. The agencies will send a second, separate letter to the taxpayer and their representative confirming this transfer.

I just received the very same message as noted above. the only difference is the calling number - it was from 413-200-4068.
It further stated to call them back at the same number.
Sad people, do Sad Things, like take from others. This Indian scam, gives itself away by answering Hello in a foriegn accent!! The FBI will announce first words out thier starting with: This is the FBI. There is another scam number that has the sam recorded Message. 908-219-8843, Same Scam ! It gets your heart going for a second there !
