They called and must have hung up almost right away. I have their number forwarded to another scam telemarketer pickup service and you would think they would like to talk to each other to share a few tricks of the trade. Really disappointing that they sensed the call was being forwarded and hung up. I have selected all of the local scam pickup services that call and have them forwarded to another one of their own scammers so they can collaborate but apparently they don't like to. Tough, even if the scammers change numbers, I will keep up and forward the calls to a scammer of my choosing. It really pleases me to hear a quick aborted ring on my phone, meaning the call has been forwarded. SOVA is definitely in the running for who I will forward to next.
This is one of several spoofed numbers used by a fraudulent service soliciting cash and clothing contributions, with the profits going into the pockets of the organizers. They are also related to Lupus Puckup at 571-921-4848. None of the front names they use are legally registered charities with Virginia or the IRS. Why are they being allowed to continue to operate? Northern Virginia seems to be a ripe area for charity frauds, as we also have five different breast cancer charity callers, each of which is not registered as a legitimate charity.
