The caller stated that he was collecting for returning war veterans. Before I could say yes or no he hung up and ended the call. When I called back the phone rang numerous times but nobody picked up and there was no recorded message. I suspect that this was someone trying to verify my phone number or address. I am in the phone book unfortunately.
An unwanted call from this Simi Valley VOIP number arrived today. When the answering machine picked up, the caller left no message, just dead space. Robocallers (unlawful telemarketers) do this all the time while trolling the phone lines seeking gullible schmucks to victimize.
Based on posters' reports, this is likely a scam charity, of which there are many working the phone lines. DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM. LET YOUR ANSWERING MACHINE TAKE THEIR PATHETIC CALLS.
