Four calls and then I blocked this number. Same recording by Nancy Gomez telling me that my ssn has been suspended and to call on the emergency hotline 805-393-1723 or 805-293-1723.
Yep, I have gotten two of these this morning. I noticed that the caller ID didn't identify as a Govt Agency, so I am ignoring them. And they left a message both times. You just have to think all the way through the message. No ID, no name, nothing that identifies YOU! (BOGUS!) Not only that, NO Government Agency will call you and demand your info over the phone. If they want to contact you, it will be by (snail) mail.
Got a call from 805-293-1723, saying it was Social Security and my account was being suspended. Asked me to call back immediately. I did, and the man who answered tried to very skillfully get all my personal information. Told me the Texas Rangers had a warrant for my arrest and that many kilos of cocaine were found in an apartment rented in my name in Texas. Also mentioned bank accounts with hundreds of thousands of dollars. Said that I would need to give them my actual account information to verify what was mine and what was fraud.
I said I was going to call the SSA, since I had no way of knowing I was speaking to the Social Security Administration. He said that was within my rights, but if I ended the call the warrant would be issued and my SS account would be suspended.
