Just called at 808PM. Caller ID said out of area. It was a recording trying to sound like a live person. He said, "This is Jason with the Police and Sherrifs Assoucation. How are you doing?" I knew the computer was set to respond to the word "good" so I instead said "dead". The computer began searching for a match to this response and I guess it went into a loop. It didn't hang up, but couldn't respond either. I listened to dead air for about thirty seconds and then hung up.
Just called again at 1112AM. Caller ID says Out of area. Same spiel as yesterday, but I listened to the entire thing today. "John" with the American Police and Sheriffs Association asking for donations. Recorded robocall which changes path depending on your answer. He asked for $100, $75, or $50. When I said no, he asked for $15. When I said no again, he said that is OK, just remember us for next time. Then the recording hung up. Anyone who donates to these scammers needs to know that ALL the money goes to telemarketer and nine to the families of officers killed in the line of duty.
