Call from this number on 12-29-13 showed up as an Amarillo, Texas number. I answered and was greeted by a man that asked for a donation for terminally ill children. I believe it was Kids Wish something, can't remember the last part. Initially I agreed to a $35 dollar donation and then he put a "supervisor" on the phone to validate the donation amount. I could hear in the background that the call was from a cube farm call center. I then asked the supervisor exactly where he was calling from. He told me that they were calling from Kentucky. I told him that I had changed my mind about the donation, because the caller ID showed an Amarillo number. He told me that some of their calls were routed due to heavy call volume. BS... Even if this is legit, it is very deceptive for caller ID to show a local phone number when they are calling from out of state.
I do donate money to worthy causes, this just seems like a possible scam.
