A message was left on my home answering machine. It said the IRS is filing a lawsuit against you. Call this number for more information about your case. As I suspected, a scam and deleted the message.
Got a call this morning. When I picked up the phone, I got the tail end of a message that said, "This will be your last contact from the IRS." That seemed odd to me since I don't have any issues the IRS, so I auto-dialed the number on my caller ID, and a foreign-sounding guy picked up the phone and said, "IRS, how can I help you." When I told him I'd received a call from that number, he wanted to know if I was calling from my home phone or cell phone. Immediately, I suspected a scam and asked him if this was the IRS. He said tersely, "Yes." Then I asked him for his ID number, and he stated that it was "77809," but he didn't give me his name. When he started to talk again, I stopped him, and he said, "Go to H*ll and f*ck yourself." Then he hung up.
Just got a call from this number. I didn't answer, they left a robot voice mail saying "This is from IRS, the reason for this call is that the IRS is suing you" (The IRS doesn't sue anybody).
yep l just got this call, telling me it was the IRS & I needed to call them back! REALLY, why would they be calling me from Hawaii........scammers @ there best!! LOL
Just got called by them. Did not pick up though said was from Hawaii. Left message same as others. IRS. Knew right off the bat was a scam so blocked the number.
