I answered this number and they had my info and wanted to confirm where I lived, etc to "help me find a better rate on my car insurance" ...... I asked the agent some questions about how they got my information and the lady became snippy with me. They give our information to local insurance companies to give us a quote, though I didn't get a straight answer of who the company was.
I just received a call from this number regarding my auto insurance. I told the woman I was in a place of business and that I couldn't talk "right now", but as rude as she was, she just kept rattling on and on. I told her I have insurance and she proceeded to tell me where I lived, etc. I asked where this info came from and she avoided the question. Then after finally getting her off my phone, I had a State Farm agent call me, telling me I had just completed a survey online for new insurance. I did no such thing. Who ever this number is, they are putting all personal information out there for everyone to see. I am not comfortable with this at all.
I've gotten three calls from the woman at this number over the last two days. She (only identified herself as Brittany) had all my information, and as I just moved there is absolutely no reason for her to have that info unless she got it from Consumer's Energy or AllConnect, the marketing company they put you on the line with after you tranfer service. I hadn't even had a chance to notify my car insurance provider, and wasn't looking for a new provider. Definitely annoying, borderline harrassment, and super sketchy.
caller is from AAA trying to sell insurance. if you do not want to answer do this list the number as Do Not Answer in your list so you do not waste your time or money or simply say some very rude words she will quit.
My husband answered a call from this number. Caller stated I called and asked for an auto quote. I never called anyone asking for a quote. Called them back and will file a complaint with police.
