Windows Technical support. I may have viruses. I told this person with an Indian accent to take me off the list, because it was BS. We was still talking when I hung up. BTW, he called my business number, so I had to answer
Called and could hear a ton of background chatter. Played along for a minute and asked if be needed my platinum card number to fix all of my viruses on my system... after that caught him off guard I informed him that I work in cyber Security and he hung up.... imagine that...lol... a-holes....
I typically thank them so much for noticing the errors and then tell them I will turn on my computer. I leave the phone on my kitchen counter until they hang up.
Same Mary Barrett call. I asked if I was talking to Mary. A woman with an Indian accent said she was Mary. I knew I was in for some fun at that point. She wanted me to get in front of my computer and run event viewer. I started to ask her if she was going to ask for permission to remote access into my computer. She did not ever state that she would. I asked her where this was going. She never offered anything more than that infections on the computer since I bought it were compromising my security. I asked her for the specific files to look for. She kept going back to wanting to walk me through these steps. She gave me a phone number that could be used to call them back. I tried it while I was talking to her, and of course it was fake. I reminded her that I was on the do not call list. She said that she was providing me with an important service. I told her that it was still illegal for her to call. She finally said "to hell with you and your computer" and hung up.
