I called my credit union VISA section and they said there is a fraudulent call going around and they are trying to track it down. The calls are not coming from them or under their authority.
Lady called from 812-647-9798 saying that she was from 5/3rd bank and was inquiring about an account of our daughters. Told her she doesn't have an acct with fifth third and the lady persisted with asking more questions. Finally told her that you've go the wrong person and hung up. Watch out for this one. Don't give out any of your acct numbers or your ss#.
I got a call on my cell phone from this number. I answered, there was a pause, then someone asked for me by name. My cell phone battery wasn't charged and died and hung up. They didn't call back. I tried calling the number and got a busy signal. I guess I'll be glad that I forgot to charge my cell phone. My cell phone number is on the "Do Not Call" list.
Anwered phone, some recorded message at first. A man came on and asked for my husband. Would not talk to me, then the connection was lost. Tried to call back but line was busy.
Received multiple calls this week. No messages left. On answering machine heard do not hang up this is not a solicitation call. After repeated recordings heard someone say hello and then hung up. Sometimes a man's voice sometimes a woman's voice. Calls received during the day, in the evenings and on the weekends.
