They have been after me since Dec 2010.They have gotten more ophisticated with the press 1 for this or press 2 for that and the elevator music while you are on hold. They used to just call and get very irate and hang up on me whenever I pressed for further details. I received 2 calls in the last week. Its sad they dont know that WE KNOW its not legit. Im like when will the move on from this already?!? All you have to do is confuse them and they hang up. Ask to speak to their supervisor. The really troubling part is before it was foreign sounding ppl with names like James Smith but an accent as thick as morning fog. Now it sounds like they have regular old American citizens in on it. Anyway, Im glad that more ppl are getting hip to the scam. Maybe if we keep posting info on sites like this it will run them out of 'business'.
GOT A MESSAGE=STATED RESTRAINING ORDER,CALL MY LAWYER WITHIN 48 HOURS, FINISHED BY SAYNING GOOD LUCK? I STAY HOME ALL DAY,CANNOT EVEN GO TO THE STORE. DONT KNOW ANYONE, THIS CALL COMES FROM TAMPA,FLORIDA
Received a call today, threatening a restraining order, but no reverse look up online, left a messge as "Special investigfator WIlliam Oaks". Even left an affadavit number. Bull.
We called him back, only to find out it was the wrong person (different middle initial of the person they were looking for), and when the guy realized we had half a brain, he hung up.
Received a call today stating that a claim had been filed against me.
I was given a case number and advised to call 813-217-5283.
Because I've received these types of calls before, I googled the number and got this website.
I will not call them back, but wanted to post for others to be on the look out when you get calls like this.
I too received a call today from a special investigator with a case number talking about a restraining order and I had 24 hours to get back to them. Really a restraining order?? In CA that is an order to restrain a violent person from you. I'll have my lawyer Perry Mason call them!!
In the meantime, I'll turn this information over to the CA Attorney General...
