On 03/03/2017 I answered an automated appointment confirmation phone call for a doctor's appointment. But then on 03/04/2017 I received a text message from (813) 308-0489 asking me to confirm my Monday appt. Since they had the details of the appointment already, I went ahead and replied Yes, as prompted. Later I realized that it could have been what they call a spoofing message sent by someone using the Yes reply for other purposes. The doctor's office has now confirmed that they do not text appointment reminders and that (813) 308-0489 is not their phone number. This is obviously a phishing scam. I blocked the option for purchasing services, etc. on my iPhone via my Verizon account, but I'm notifying you of this scam because obviously the scammers hacked either side, or both, of my communications with my doctor's office.
