An 'Ed Zamos'? calling for my ex - with a claim number. Haven't talked to my ex in over 4 years & have NO idea where he's at - obviously faulty research. Every debt we had is far past the statutes of limitations for the state we were in so safe to say they're trying to collect on old debt. I had a bankruptcy, so they can't, by law, collect one cent from me or even ask to.
This idiots are calling me yet again. Over the last 3 years these scum morons have called my number looking for the former owner of the phone number for an old debt. They say they have a claim for him and he has one chance to respond to verify his address. Funny how they say "one time" yet it's been going on for years. They are already in violation by threatening, not to mention they dont even say who they are or that they are collecting on a debt. Just "we have a case against you". I have told them several times the former owner of the number no longer has the number and its been years. They could easily look the owner of the current number up, but do they want to spend the money to do it? Nope. They always say sorry we will remove the number from our list. Calls do stop for about 90 days then it starts all over again. In the state of Florida this is now against the law. They are required to stop calling if you verbally tell them just once. I guess I now have perfect grounds for a lawsuit with the recorded messages and proof of every single time they called. I'm sure they would love that. I gave them the benefit of the doubt. They need to think twice about harassing people especially those who know the laws and rules of debt collection.
