It's from a solar panel telemarketer. It's good those who reported the number DIDN'T answer, because the real person calling was very rude. The call came to my cell -- my business phone -- so I had to answer (as I often get legit calls from unfamiliar numbers). At first, I thought it was a robo-voice; here was our little conversation:
"Are you a real person?"
"Of course I'm real. Are you?"
"What's 4 x 3?" (I know some companies have algorithms to respond to expected questions. I figured a robot wouldn't be able to answer this.)
"12. Sheesh. Have I convinced you yet? What's 38 divided by 12?"
"Look, you called my business phone. I'm not playing this game with you. I just needed proof--"
"What? You can play this with me but I can't play it with you?"
I started to respond about how I would not do business with a company that had such rude people, but he (surprise!) hung up on me.
The Do Not Call registry is a waste of time. I added this number to my auto-reject list, knowing full-well that I'll get another call just like it from another bogus number. Grrr!
