Sorry, I should of mentioned that if the collector refuses or does not supply you with their company information, address, etc. THEY are breaking the laws governing the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Monitor their call frequency, take notes...and SUE THEM. Use a consumer attorney.
I AM NOT an attorney, just a citizen who after a horrid divorce and the past last name of Smith, had to take my identity theft file all the way to the Texas Attorney General's office for final resolution to get these unlawful practices to stop. IT WORKS.
Want to know more about your true consumer rights...write me.
Here is the link to the FEDERAL Fair Credit Reporting ACT. READ IT, USE IT.....Let the slim ball collectors who use tactics outside of their legal range KNOW you KNOW your rights. PUT them on the defense.
I don't know why these mother f*ckers keep calling constantly and think they can just harrass me or anyone any time of the day! Don't these f*ckers know that threatening me to take me to court or for whatever reasons they're calling, will have to go through some legal processings? I don't even bother picking up my phone and delete my message right away. What a waste of my minutes!
Jason Sullivan called my parents cell phone (which is NEVER given out) and told them I needed to call them regarding a claim that was filed.
Tyler and Morgan in Tampa, FL

Same as above. I get a phone call from this number (second time in two weeks) telling me I need to call them regarding a claim. They cant even get my name right so I have no doubt its either BS or some sort of scam.
