They left a message at 8:45am looking for a family member that has never lived here. The caller id number was different 469-814-8041. Message said to give affidavit number to attorney regarding restraining order. Very scary....very much a scare tactic. I will not pass on this message to the family member!
A guy left a voicemail said His name is Special Investigator Pat Smith with Central Legal Network, said I was named a respondant in a court action. Left this phone number 813-863-1961. Said it also contained a "restraining order" etc. etc...
I called back gave the case number they listed and a lady answered and said that they have been trying to serve me papers to sue me about a $2,000 credit card that went to collection in 2006(Provident Bank). She said they were trying not to embarras me at work by serving me up papers at work. (yeah right, if your getting served they dont give a damn where/when they serve you) She said they they also wanted to sue me for Fraud because it looks like "I took the money and ran" ...She then asked "for the record did you try to commit fraud on my client" .......
I realized this was a collection company trying to use scare tactics... said later and hung up
I got a voice mail too~ basically saying the same thing, but I couldn't understand half of what the guy said! That is crazy! I learned the hard way to look into these kinds of things before paying them what they claim you owe. They can take me to court if they have appropriate documentation!
I just received this same message yesterday!! I am so glad I say your post. I almost had a heart attack trying to figure out what it was and if I needed to drop 10 grand on a lawyer. I called and had to leave a message but have heard no response yet. Glad to know I am not going to jail. I was not worried about the restraining order, b/c trust me I won't mess with them!!! Thanks for the heads up.
We received the same call and so did my 80 year old mothe. Ar representiveof Central Legal Network said there was a legal action to be filed against us. When I returned the call they refused to give me information and wanted my SS # I said no I do not know who you are and you refused to give me info. I then called back and asked for a supervisor whenj she came on I gave her their case number but she wanted my SS# again the same stonewalling of information all over again. I filed a complaint with the FTC and The States Attorney General's office and anyone else being contacted by this company should do the same. I Would like to see someone file a Class action against these people what they are doing can't be legal according to the FTC web site.
