They called me earlier today and told me that I had won a sweepstakes of some sort, and then they were offering to give me free magazines as well as a diamond watch. They asked me if I lived at yada yada yada and I went "uhh okay." They asked if I was between the ages of 19 and 65 and I went "uhh sure." Then, they gave me a selected list of what magazines they had, and I just chose one. Finally, they asked me if I wanted a man's watch or a ladies watch, and I just said "uhh a man's watch."
After the lady said that someone (a supervisor?) would call me to ask me how she was at communicating, we ended our conversation the usual way.
Then, I went online to check this number, and found out...THEY WERE SCAMMERS!
I don't know what they were up to, but after realizing this, they tried to call me again, so I just ignored the call.
PLEASE TELL EVERYONE TO IGNORE THIS NUMBER! THEY ARE A BUNCH OF BOGUS SCAMMERS AND WILL CHEAT YOU OUT OF YOUR CASH.
As for me, I never gave out any credit card information. I just verified my address and age information. I really hope I don't get scammed, but if you're afraid to do so, call your credit card company and report the fraud. And if that doesn't work...well at least you've learned a lesson.
