Received two calls in two days. When calling back the number to complain I get the recording that the phone is no longer in service. How can that be? The number is assigned to Philip Small in Land O'Lakes. Either the guy is a fool or the equipment of the phone company needs attention. In the meantime give Philip a call.
Multiple calls from "Energy Program'" or "State Energy Conservation" or who-knows-what they will call themselves when you ask who they are. We received 6 calls throughout the day 6/6/2010 from 813-929-8761 which were all hang-ups. The number is shown as belonging to Philip Small in Land O Lakes, but calling the number resulted in a "number not in service" message from the phone company. I picked up the phone when the same number called today 6/8 at 8:55 am - after a long pause a man asked for me by name and began a pitch for making our home more energy efficient at "no cost" to us because of government programs. He said his name was James Rodriguez. I asked if this was a government program and he said it was a private company. I asked him why he was calling and he said [they] were calling everyone in Sarasota. I told him that I was on the Do Not Call list and he said he would remove our number, but I pointed out that they had called repeatedly from a bogus number and asked for the address of the company - he disconnected the line. Reported them to the FL Attorney General http://www.myfloridalegal.com/# . It is obvious they are using automatic calling in violation of the do not call rules, they are harassing and abusing Floridians, and are probably running a scam.
