I too received a call from this person on my cell phone i missed the call but some guy left a nasty message with a partial social saying if i didn't call him back there would be legal action, his accent was so bad i had to listen to the message several times to even understand it, he said he was calling from the Tampa Fl crime prevention unit.
Just called multipletimes, 2 calls at work and 2 at home indicating he was (something Anglo Saxon Smith I believe) and he was a police officer calling from some "fraud prevention" bureau, had a distinctly south Asia accent (Indian perhaps?)... Wanted me to confirm partial SSN number (which I refused to do a total of three times) and I repeatedly asked the nature of the call -- I think he said (very hard to understand) he was going to transfer me to a detective -- I heard multiple touchtones on his end of the call, then a disconnect. He hasn't called back in about an hour.

Also got a call from heavily accented gentleman claiming to be officer no idea (cause cant understand him) when I threatened to turn them over to FBI and district attorney he wished my luck and hung up.
The same individual (strong middle eastern accent) calling but going by a different name - Samuel Jackson. Now he is calling, harassing me on my work line AGGRESSIVELY Last year he was going by Michael Stevens, prior to him a female was calling using the name Mona Williams. They have scammed by doing an electronic transaction for $69.95 to some company who sells "art supplies". When they call they identify as a company called ASC then used ASC Law Firm now saying they are with the "Federal Investigations Department" not the "Federal Bureau Investigations". He is threatening to have me arrested "today" and states "you will be fired and lose your job today". He tells me I have 3 federal allegations against me and I will be arrested if I do not cooperate by verifying my personal information, name, dob, SS#, checking account #, bank name, routing #, address, phone #, friends names and phone #'s, etc.) Then he states I have 3 charges against me (not allegations) cause 1, cause 2 and cause 3 says fraud banking, theft by deception and some other nonsense terminology. When I ask how much he cannot answer that question. He says I had money electronically deposited into my account (which is not true) and that I owe them for providing me a loan. I do not owe anyone and do not believe in electronic transactions therefore I know they are scammers. I NEVER do things online with SS# or payments. I pay everything in cash! I spoke with my assigned fbi agent and assigned local police detective and they both have advised me to report to SS office hotline and the Attorney Generals office to report the name of their "company". They go by so many diff names and company names.. I also have to change my bank again for the 3rd time and change all my employer information again.....This is frustrating and very stressful. When he calls, he is threatening! If anyone has any additional information about this please report to proper authorities. The only way they will stop is if we as paying citizens do something about it.

I just recently had a friend called from this number as well. Looking for me. It was a gentleman with a very strong accent. Very difficult to understand. Says I have criminal charges against me for fraudulant activity. What? Should I call the number back? OR just ignore it!?
