Number called at dinnertime, left no message, and nobody picks up when you call the number back.

This phone number ID'd as Tampa Cen called at 7:40pm, was answered on the third ring; no response and no message

My cell phone rang around dinner time with this number 813-974-8822. I didn't answer. The caller never left a message. I know this exchange is in the USF area of Tampa.

This is USF calling. The purpose of the calls is to reconnect with alumni and parents of students attending the University.  I worked there when i was in college.  Money raised helps finance many scholarships, fellowships, chairs, professorships, and many other important things the university. Whether or not you make a donation, remember that the callers are current students just trying to do something for USF.  Be patient with them.  Personally, I used to not mind giving them a donation, and I had already shelled out a ton of money as an out of state student!
