This is a SCAM do not answer or return calls from this number! The script says the following:
"This message is intended for (computer generated name of victim). This is Amanda Bradley, investigator for WTM. There is a Civil matter in the office with your name and social security number attached. Your case is scheduled to go before the review board. If you or your attorney would like to place a statement on file before a decision is rendered, please do not hesitate to contact our legal dept immediately and reference the file number (computer generated file number) or press any key now to be connected to the plaintiff""
This number keeps calling me and telling me they are taking me to court for money I owe to someone. I don't owe anyone money other than what I have out. These phone calls need to stop. Someone needs to stop these people. As what was written above is the same thing what I am being told.
I had my identity stolen in 2013...the people who stole my id took out a bunch of payday loans...i have filed affidavits and police reports and the investigation actually showed whose name is on the bank card they used for deposits and who they computer belonged to address and name...but the chicago pd has refused to carry it any further! so now i am being harrassed and threatened...I have not worked since 2009 and i am disabled...and i am being threatened to be arrested...I even took this to the channel 7 news in chicago and nothing was done...these people are scum and dont want to know or hear the truth! I have never taken out a payday loan in my life!
I did contacted someone about Brunner Cahn and Associates harassing me and this was the email I received in response!
I hope this finds you well. Just wanted to let you know that we conducted some research on the information you provided us. Our research seems to indicate that the debt collector is a scam operation. It seems they purchase consumers' information that applied for a payday loan online and pretend to be a legitimate debt collector. Right now the Department of Justice, the FBI, and the FTC are trying to find the company and its owners. Since they are unable to find the owners, we are certain we won't be able to either. As such, we don't believe it is worth your time and frustration to try and pursue this company. Please realize that you owe this company nothing and that if they continue to contact you let them know you are aware of their tactics. If you tell them that you will not pay them a dime, they should leave you alone (if they haven't already). I wish we were in the position to go after this company but they (and hundreds of similar companies) have eluded law enforcement for years.
Plus I googled the address and came up with a newspaper company at suite 500...I called and was told that Suite 500 is actually a floor in a building with 50-60 businesses in them and when I asked if they heard of Brunner Cahn and Assoc. he said no.
Do not fall for this scam! I have also filed a police report for phone harassment to have on record and I bought a referee whistle...If they do call me again they never will after that!
