People telling me that a "friend" gave my number for a free carpet cleaning. Kirby company. My advice, don't answer or tell them you aren't interested

I'll second that!!!  Do not answer or say you want free carpet cleaning from Kirby.

This is Kirby and they said the same - my name was provided as a referral for a free carpet cleaning. They said they would not try to sell me anything that this was a service the offer to promote their name so if I, or anyone I know, was in the need for professional cleaning services we would call Kirby.  They said the visit would last about an hour.  They lied.  They did not 'clean a room' them gave me a 2 hour demo and tried to sell me the $2,000 vacuum.  Just say no.
