I received a call from an unknown number on my cell phone asking to verify the address of my business. The caller introduced herself as from Verifacts and the call was being recorded. Before they began a line of questioning on information they wanted to "verify," I asked about the company calling (Verifacts) and on whose behalf they were seeking information. The caller told me her company represented banks and financial institutions. I am not aware of any reason a bank or financial institutions would need to "verify" personal information that was not already on file or in the public domain. I declined to provide any information and terminated the call.
