Have received several automated calls with the same or nearly the smae mantra. That my account Visa Debit has been suspended or that there was fradulent activity. The incoming and return numbers are generally different
1)Incoming 1-999-999-9999 Return 1-972-646-6686
2)Incoming blank Return 1-956-772-4497 (this was a VISA activation line)
3)Incoming 1-212-233-4040 Return 815-410-4222
On 6-22-08, we received a phone call with a recorded message from "American National Bank" informing us of "unusual activity on our account" and to immediately call 815-410-4222 to correct this problem.
Usual yada yada about account suspension. Phone number to call was somebodies private line where an answering machine picked up. I called the caller id'd number and got a voice message saying they are NOT the American bank, and have nothing to do with what's going on, they are in Toronto Canada.
