The caller ID is from (815) 493-8244 Lanark, IL. The message is a computer recorded voice that says the IRS is filing a lawsuit against me. Instructs me to call (206)395-3629. The woman told me there is a warrant out for my arrest, my driver's license will be suspended, all assets ceased. They are moving forward with these actions right now based on an audit of my taxes from 2008 - 2013 which shows a miscalculation on my taxes. Said the call is being recorded and asked if I intentionally did not pay outstanding taxes. The amount owed is $3,986.73. I asked why am I just hearing about this now via a phone call. She said they called twice. I know if there is a issue with taxes, the IRS sends a letter. She asked if I wanted to speak to her supervisor I said yes. Had my brother on my cell at the same time. I asked the supervisor's name, department and badge number. Said his name was John David, dept Audit Department. Started to give badge number my brother said 'It's a scam', the 'supervisor' hung up. Both people I spoke to had very heavy accents.
