I received a missed call from this number, and called it back. It is the "customer care" line at the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police -- clearly a fundraising call.
The previous two posters are correct, it's a police fundraiser calling...we donated a couple of times and now they won't stop calling. So much for being on the "do not call" list.
I believe that is a police fundraiser---but for you people grumbling about why you get calls when you're on the do-not-call list---that list does not apply to charities, non-profit and political groups. So stop griping.
Got a call from this number today...how do I know they're legit? Would I give them a credit card #? Only if they send brochure! Not the first time I've gotten a call like this either.
