Claimed to represent "Charity Appeal", a fundraiser soliciting "one-time" donations to support "The National Police and Troopers Association". Clearly a very slick, high pressure telemarketing fundraising scam!!! When asked what percentage of the donation went directly to assist the organization for whom they were soliciting, the guy claimed to be new and did not know the answer. Note that any legitimate charity would be forthcoming with such, where anything less than 90% should be considered suspect! He then stated that if I would commit to a donation, he would send an invoice with additional information attached. Started suggesting a sizesble amount and continued pressing working his way down to a $15 one time donation! This is clearly a scam, one where very little, if any of the donated funds get to those whom they are intended to help! ALWAYS do your homework!
