FOLKS - ALL telephone numbers that have a prefix beginning with the numeral "1" are bogus!
DO NOT ANSWER!
Called at 4:08pm. Their call was blocked before they robodialed our number.
*********************** NEW SCAM NUMBER - DO NOT ANSWER *************
YOU CAN'T CALL THIS NUMBER BACK - EVEN IF YOU TRIED.
This is a totally scammed number.
NO phone numbers in the US & Canada begin with the prefix numeral "1".
Don't answer crap calls ever - they are always scams.
We have the D*gitone call blocker and that device gives us the ability to block ALL phone calls that begins with the prefix numeral "1".
Check out Amazon for the Panasonic phone that blocks 250 full telephone numbers or the D*gitone blocker that can block ENTIRE AREA CODES, area codes with one, two or three prefix digits, full telephone numbers and many more features.
We own and use the Panasonic and the D*gitone blocking devices.
The number is normal, it is what people have to dial on the POTS lines for calls outside their area code.
I have 1-(telephone number) programmed into my cell phone for many of the numbers I call, and it is possible that entire string of digits gets transmitted.
12-2-15 William, what Mr. jetames is referring when he says "NO phone numbers in the US & Canada begin with the prefix numeral "1"", is the first number of the middle three numbers (146). So in the phone number 818-146-8229, the prefix in this case is the first number of the middle three numbers (146) which is a one (1).
Also got this call. I knew it was a phony from the 146 prefix, but picked it up anyway to give them an earful. As expected, there's no one on the other end of the line, either because the robocall was too quick for the scammer to realize he had a live one, or because they were just checking to see if my number was active. Either way, they won't be connecting with me again because the number is now blocked.
