"Did I receive a call from this number?" This site asks. Why, YES I did. I received at least 4 today alone. Maybe 5, sometimes it doesn't ring long enough for my phone system to log it into the record. This number started calling around the end of last year. Only occasionally, not often enough to get logged. The number of calls has increased since and now, the number doesn't just ring almost everyday, but several times through out the day, though sometimes 3 times in an hour!
I have blocked 49 calls from my phone & am allowed 50. Apparently, I duplicated one of the numbers leaving me one last space. What to do? Who to block next? While I've already blocked calls from Agoura, Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Burbank, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks & a few other places in the 818 area code,(I've also blocked numbers in at least 9 other CA area codes & a few from AZ, NY, TX, FL, NC, PA, VT, & Washington DC OR other states) I don't know which repeat caller to waste that last blockable number. (it just rang again & I answered it on ring #4 just to see which scam it was running. Unfortunately, no one answered & I didn't want to keep my side of the line connected while waitng for the reticent caller to answer. I've read, on one of the sites like this one,some calls are attempting to get access to your IPA or some other means to get into your computer (that number just rang again! I didn't answer it) but it requires a minimum amount of seconds to do it, so if no one seems to be there, hang up.
I have no idea if that statement above is true or not, but sounds logical. I've gotten the IRS scam from 6 CA area codes, maybe 2 other states & last week (I thought they gave up on me, it's been a few months) 2 different numbers in Washington DC. I blocked so many numbers where the caller ID said "800 Service" supposedly used to run that "I'm calling you from Microsoft. Your computer is advising us of some 'error msgs' " or another fake ccomputer trouble shooter. But I've gotten both of those variations when I've picked up calls with a "normal" looking caller ID, meaing a person or company name.
I joined the Do NOT CALL list the second I heard about it, what 10 years ago? I also heard that list was "sold" every 5 years & have signed up again. But NOTHING WORKS!! The very existence of a DO NOT CALL LIST is joke & waste of time. If I get one more call from a construction company 'who will be in my area next Monday & is WILLING TO WRITE A FREE ESTIMATE FOR ME' I will rip the phone out of the wall. WHAT CAN WE DO? I HAVE ELDERLY PARENTS & THEY'RE NUMBER DOES NOT DISPLAY ANY CALL ID INFO. NEITHER DOES MY BROTHER'S HOME PHONE (not his office or cell) & a few other ligitimte callers don't display it either.
WHAT IF I IGNORE AN EMERGENCY CALL BECAUSE I ASSUME THE CALLERS IS FULL OF [***]?
I AM SICK OF THIS. OF RUNNING TO CATCH A PHONE & GET A HANG UP OR SOME [***] SCAMMER WHEN I PICK IT UP(I no longer have a telephone in my bedroom or I'd never get to sleep past 6am) WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?
iS THERE A SOLUTION? & HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT I KEEP GETTING CALLS FROM NUMBERS SUCH AS "000-000-0000 OR 111-111-1111 OE 800 153 xxxx? i CAN'T EVEN BLOCK THOSE NUMBERS THEY AREN'T VALID!!
WHAT CAN WE DO? I CAN'T AFFORD TO BUY "A BOX that emits a high tone or uses some other way to stop ROBO callers. I don't want to tell my parents I didn't pick up their important call because it didn't display THEIR PERSONAL INFO on the caller ID. Knowing my father, HE'LL ASSUME I SIGNED UP FOR SOMETHING OR DID SOMETHING ELSE STUPID TO CAUSE ALL THESE UNWANTED CALLS! If I tell him about scammers or Robo calls, "Well, I NEVER GET THIS KIND OF CALL SO ALL THE PEOPLE THAT DO PROBABLY GAVE THEIR NUMBERS TO SOMONE ON THE INTERNET ... blah blah blah
THIS INCESSANT IRRITANT THESE PIGS CLAIMING TO BE FROM THE IRS OR UNITED NATIONS OR WHATEVER HAS TO STOP!
Does anyone know what to do? OMG! I just ot a call from"1-000-000-0000! DOES ANYONE GET THIS MANY CALLS IN AN HOUR? I ALSO GOT 1 FROM "WEI JUYUN IN 805 AREA CODE CALLED HALF THRU THIS MSG, I KNOWTHAT'S A PHONEY COMMPUTER SERVIVE & WHILE TYPING THIS A 213- DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES AREA CODE THAT STARTED AFTER I BLOCKED 2 OTHER #S FROM '213' CALLED
AGAIN, ANYONE GET THIS MANY FLAKEY CALLS IN AN HOUR!!! HELP! LEAVE ME ALONE!!!
