I just received a call and was told to call a law office with a number of (818) 351-6953. Any reputable law firm would have their phone number listed. The caller said that I was being sued. When I asked his name he hung up. Sounds extremely fraudulent!

This was on Tuesday June 6th around 3-4pm. Got a call from a blocked number. Guy said that he was with FT(I think) Delivery and they we're trying to contact me due to a failure to serve legal summons or subpoena. Asked what this was in reference to and he stated that he was just with a delivery company and had no information other than it was a court case in california. He said the address at which they attempted to serve and it was one I hadn't lived at in over 13 years. He gave me this number to call which was supposed to be law firm named Yang & Associates and a case number format ########-##CA. Said that I only had 2 hours to respond to reschedule court date. Like the above posts, I thought it was odd and sounded like a scam. Waited an hour or so and called the number with my number blocked. The call went directly to voicemail. The voice mail only said "you've reached the loss and mitigation department, please leave a message". The voice on the message sounded EXACLTY like the original caller that claimed to be with the delivery service, not the "law firm". Called a few more times until someone named Steven answered. Sounded like other people in the background working. He did not sound like the voicemail or the original caller. I said that I was asked to call this number and told him the case number. He typed on a keyboard for a few seconds and then asked to put me on hold while he researched it. After a brief hold he came back and asked for my first and last name. I refused telling him he already had my name in the subpoena and asked what this was in reference to. He said that he didn't know since he couldn't find any info with that case number. I then told him "in that case this conversation was over" and hung up. Haven't heard back anything since.
Pretty sure it was one of those scams where they tell you that you missed a court date and would be arrested unless you settled the amount owed on the phone immediately.
They have your social security number and drivers license number, we used the Kmart card at Sears with a debit card and they got hacked. Now we got a call and he had ALL of our info !!! Everything he said he was California and my wife would be arrested, I knew it was a scam and called him on it then insulted him and he rambled out her social, and DL no. Our address as well!!
