Shelby from US Supply called and said we had an open account with them, and they are updating their contacts to send out a new catalog with a free gift of a calculator or Starbucks gift card. I checked our vendor list, and US Supply is not among our vendors that we've used in the past 12 years. I told the caller we did not have an account with US Supply, he assured me that we did and that was why they had our number. I told him we were not interested in the catalog. He kept talking about the free gift. I told him again we were not interested and asked to be removed from their call list. He hung up. This is likely a company that sends product that was never ordered, then sends an invoice, and when you try to have the product returned they won't take it, or they charge a re-stocking fee.
No pick-up at this # upon call back. Caller ID from Sherman Oaks/Van Nuys, CA and appears this number is tied to posts on this site about similar phone # 818-742-0028.
These people get the name of somebody at the company, hopefully a warehouse person, and send them items they have not ordered. They sent us a box of cheap tape for 3 times what good tape costs. They expect it to just skate through the system. You have to send a registered letter saying that you did not order the tape and that they have X number of days to pcik it up before you through it away.
Ask them for their web-site - they don't have one. Ask them for their phone number and they will say they can't give you one. SCAM. They say the company name is Wholesale Industrial Tape. Didn't see it in BBB.com or ripoffreport.com ....yet.
A lady asked for whoever handles our shipping. I told her we did not ship anything, she then asked what about our office supplies. I asked for a phone number at least 5 times in the conversation, but she said she was on an outgoing line only. I aske dif she could give me any number to the company and she said no. She did tell me her company name was US Supply. She said to just let the person who orders supplies know she was mailing a catalog and that they could call her if they wanted to order anything. I said "what phone number will be on the catalog?" She said she did not know......
