caller ID said "Out of area" tho it's my same area code. I didn't pickup, they didn't leave message, so probably a telemarketer.

Missed the call; no message was left.

3:17 PM - disconnected the call on 2nd ring, then blocked.

Caller ID = Cellular Call

Yet another 818 scam call.  Now blocked!
We NEVER answer unknown calls - EVER!
These strange calls are always scams.

Don't ever call them back - unless you want to talk to a criminal!

[Just for the record, since I haven't seen anyone else mention it, in addition to political calls and solicitations by charities, the Do Not Call regulations also exempt any business withing 50 miles of your home (unless it is across a state line) from the restrictions.  So, these calls are annoying...but they're not illegal.  You'll have to rely on your own call blocking hardware or service to stop them.]
